The Illinois Young Republicans believe in an America First foreign policy — one that prioritizes the needs and well-being of our own citizens before extending aid to others abroad. Our guiding principle is simple: if you can’t take care of yourself, how can you take care of others?

Today, millions of hardworking Illinoisans are struggling to make ends meet, living paycheck to paycheck while facing rising costs and economic uncertainty. We believe that taxpayer dollars and resources should first and foremost benefit the regular men and women here at home — strengthening our communities, our economy, and our national security.

When it comes to global affairs, we hold that peace should be the ultimate goal. History has shown that fire cannot be put out with more fire. Endless conflicts and foreign entanglements drain our nation’s strength and distract from the prosperity and stability that should define American leadership.

We also believe that American arms and defense manufacturing should primarily serve the United States military — not foreign wars or conflicts that do not advance our national interests. Our duty is to ensure that the men and women who wear our uniform have what they need to protect our nation, before sending arms or aid overseas.

At the end of the day, the Illinois Young Republicans stand firmly for America First — for a strong and independent United States that defends the West through strength, peace, and the prosperity of its own people.
